Sweet tradition...

Based in historic Rochester Kent, we were inspired by a family history in
confectionary to bring new and exciting
chocolate designs and flavours to the market.

Mixing traditional chocolate with modern confectionary
techniques, we lovingly
make handmake artisan chocolate, inspired by
fine and unique flavours and colour. We
are fully insured and are registered with
Medway Council and have a 5 star food
inspection rating.

Curious Cocoa is owned by Beth Frost who
has a family history of confectionary, sweets
and chocolate. Her Grandmother owned a
confectioners in the 1940s on Northfleet High
Street, Kent, where her mother grew up. It was called W&M Taylor.
As a child Beth used to make cakes and sweets with her Grandmother who was sugar mad!

Professional training

My chocolate journey has been shaped by
learning from some of the most respected names in the craft. In 2008 I spent an
intensive week training at the Squires Kitchen Cookery School under the guidance of Mark Tilling, the acclaimed pastry chef and chocolatier, where I developed the core techniques and skills that
underpin my work today. More recently, in 2024,
I expanded my skills further by completing a
chocolate sculpture course with world-renowned sculptor Chris Zammit, focusing on the artistry and structural techniques required to create striking chocolate showpieces. These experiences continue to influence both my creativity and the quality of the chocolate experiences I offer.

Photos show Mark Tilling, my first
chocolates, my inspiration May Taylor, my
market stall and my chocolate sculpture.
